Design Process
Cima Design, Inc. takes great pride in adapting spaces, ideas and dreams to the specific needs of each client. This is achieved by including each item of your wish list in the design while being cognizant of your budget.
The first step is to start with an initial meeting where the client provides magazine clippings, design styles and a building site. In this step, called the Preliminary Design, we develop a floor plan(s) and elevations as well as place the structure on the building site.
Based on a good Preliminary Design, we proceed to the Design Development phase. Details are added to the floor plan(s) and elevations and your home really starts to take shape.
The design process then moves into the Construction Documents phase. Here the final design is drafted, structural engineering is obtained and, if necessary, the plans are submitted to the appropriate review board. You are now ready to break ground on your very own custom home!
